Still-Life Characters

Over the years I’ve acquired a collection of three-dimensional objects that I'm excited about, and they have proven to be very interesting to students. It’s my belief that if a student is interested in, or likes the object they’re drawing, they’ll generally do better. I just wasn't excited about the fruit, vegetables, and other household and garage-type objects assigned to me while in junior high, so I've elected not to inflict them upon my students.

Below are samples of student artwork done from my collection of three-dimensional action figures, model kits, collectible statues, and busts. The models were positioned in front of the students, the students then blocked in the major areas with “simple shapes” and then added details, shading, or color.
